Our Doctors and Nurses running on time
Due to unforeseen situations, our doctors and nurses can run behind schedule. We encourage all patients to make a long consultation if they have multiple issues to discuss at their appointment. Our reception team also try to give patients an estimate of the expected wait time when they attend and will contact patients if the doctor is called to the hospital for an emergency, or is experiencing a longer than usual delay in the clinic.
Seeing a Doctor or Nurse quickly when needed
Daily appointment availability varies, depending on the number of doctors working. Recruitment and retention of doctors is an ongoing issue, as it is with most rural practices. We have allocated ‘emergency’ appointments that are used by our triage nurse, who assesses anyone needing an appointment on the day and also have an ‘emergency’ doctor who attends the Urgent Care Centre at the Leongatha Hospital to see all patients needing immediate treatment.
Making an appointment for a day and time that suits you
We continue to strive to have appointment availability every day. Although you may not be able to get an appointment with a particular doctor, we will make every attempt to book you an appointment as close as possible to the day and time you require . Online bookings can be made via HotDoc, which can be accessed through our website.
