All consultations are by appointment (except for the ACCESS Clinic).
Long consultations for complex or multiple issues are available so please tell our receptionist if you think you need one of these.
Patients are all privately billed for their consultations, except for Concession Card Holders and children under the age of 16, and we can submit your claim electronically to Medicare if required.
A designated oncall doctor is available each day for patients who need to be seen. This doctor is available for any emergency presentations at the hospital – so if you do have an appointment with the oncall doctor, please be aware that they can be called away to the hospital at any time.
Because there is no publicly funded after hours medical service in Leongatha, Leongatha Healthcare’s doctors provide after hours care at the Leongatha campus of Gippsland Southern Health Service – 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.
If you require after hours assistance please call Gippsland Southern Health on: 5667 5555 and the duty nurse will contact the oncall Doctor. In an emergency please call 000.
All patients seen After Hours will be issued an invoice and payment is expected at the time of service.
Pathology and X-Ray results are downloaded daily and patients are normally asked to make a follow up appointment to discuss results, although you can contact the clinic to ensure your result has been received and checked by the doctor. We will make every attempt to contact patients when urgent follow up is required.
REPEAT SCRIPTS & REFERRALS
Patients are asked to make an appointment for repeat scripts or referrals.
Phone requests for repeat scripts or referrals will be provided as per the treating doctor’s discretion and patients will be charged an admin fee of $7 for a script and $10 for a referral.
Copies of lost referrals will incur a $10 admin fee.

TRANSFER OF MEDICAL HISTORY
If you would like your medical history transferred to another practice, a fee of $22 will be charged to cover the doctors time in preparing the information in a format that is of assistance for the continuing care of the patient.
